Level of Study: Australia Awards scholarships provide citizens of eligible African countries with the opportunity to pursue a Master’s qualification at an Australian tertiary institution. Awards will commence in 2025.

Eligibility Requirements: In addition to general eligibility criteria, candidates from eligible African countries must:

• Be a minimum of 25 years old by February 1, 2025.
• Possess a minimum of 5 years of post-graduate work experience in a field relevant to their chosen area of study.
• Be citizens of Algeria, Benin, Botswana, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, or Zimbabwe.
• Reside in and apply for the scholarship from their country of citizenship, unless working for an African Regional Organisation or on a diplomatic mission for their home country.
• Not currently hold or be pursuing a Master’s degree or equivalent.
• Hold an undergraduate degree equivalent to an Australian undergraduate degree.
• Have not previously received a long-term Australia Award.
• Meet the minimum English language proficiency requirement (IELTS 6.5 with no band less than 6.0, TOEFL iBT 84, PTE Academic 58 with no communicative skill score less than 50). Scores must be valid on January 1, 2025, excluding candidates educated in English if their first language is English.
