GCIS Internship Programme 2023

The Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) extends an invitation to eligible graduates to apply for participation in the Internship programme during the 2023/2024 financial year.

GCIS Internship Programme Advert

The GCIS internship aims to provide work exposure for a period of twenty-four (24) months to thirty-six (36) graduates. Applicants must be unemployed and should not have participated in any internship program before. It is important to note that placement in the organization after the program is not guaranteed.

Graduate Internship Programmes:

1. Internal Audit:
   • Requirements: National Diploma (NQF 6) or three (3) years Degree (NQF 7) in Internal Audit, Bcom Accounting, Financial Accounting, or Bcom Financial Management.
2. Supply Chain Management:
   • Requirements: National Diploma (NQF 6) or three (3) years Degree (NQF 7) in Public Management, Administration, Logistics Management, Public Finance, Accounting, Purchasing Management.
3. Financial Management:
   • Requirements: National Diploma (NQF 6) or three (3) years Degree (NQF 7) in Public Finance, Accounting.
4. Financial Administration:
   • Requirements: National Diploma (NQF 6) or three (3) years Degree (NQF 7) in Bcom Accounting, Financial Accounting, Public Finance, or Bcom Financial Management.
5. Corporate Governance:
   • Requirements: National Diploma (NQF 6) or three (3) years Degree (NQF 7) in Public Administration/Management, Corporate Governance.
6. Media Policy:
   • Requirements: National Diploma (NQF 6) or three (3) years Degree (NQF 7) in Media Policy, Media Law, Communication Science, Public Relations, Marketing, Media and Cultural Studies.
7. Content Developer:
   • Requirements: National Diploma (NQF 6) or three (3) years Degree (NQF 7) in Media Studies, Journalism, Communications.
8. Conceptual Copywriter:
   • Requirements: National Diploma (NQF 6) or three (3) years Degree (NQF 7) in Advertising, Media Studies, Journalism, Brand Communication with a Major in Copywriting.
9. Research:
   • Requirements: National Diploma (NQF 6) or three (3) years Degree (NQF 7) in Research Studies, Media Studies.
10. Digital Media:
    • Requirements: National Diploma (NQF 6) or three (3) years Degree (NQF 7) in Digital Media Studies, Media Studies.
11. Graphic Design:
    • Requirements: National Diploma (NQF 6) or three (3) years Degree (NQF 7) in Visual Communication, Graphic Design.
12. Videographer:
    • Requirements: National Diploma (NQF 6) or three (3) years Degree (NQF 7) in Videography, Cinematography, Media Studies.
13. Photographer:
    • Requirements: National Diploma (NQF 6) or three (3) years Degree (NQF 7) in Photography, Media Studies.
14. Animators:
    • Requirements: National Diploma (NQF 6) or three (3) years Degree (NQF 7) in Multi-Media Design, Animation.
15. Administration:
    • Requirements: National Diploma (NQF 6) or three (3) years Degree (NQF 7) in Public Administration/Management.
16. Editorial Services:
    • Requirements: National Diploma (NQF 6) or three-year Degree (NQF 7) in Communication Science, Journalism, Media Studies, or English.
17. Language Services:
    • Requirements: National Diploma (NQF 6) or three-year Degree (NQF 7) in Translation, Linguistics, or Language Practice.
18. Digital Media:
    • Requirements: National Diploma (NQF 6) or three (3) years Degree (NQF 7) in Communication Science, Public Relations, Media Studies.
19. Cluster Communication:
    • Requirements: National Diploma (NQF 6) or three (3) years Degree (NQF 7) in Communications, Public Relations, Public Administration, Journalism, or Project Management.
20. Provincial And Local Liaison:
    • Requirements: National Diploma (NQF 6) or three (3) years Degree (NQF 7) in Media Studies, Communications, Public Management, Public Administration, Journalism.
21. Provincial And Local Liaison (Communication):
    • Requirements: National Diploma (NQF 6) or three (3) years Degree (NQF 7) in Communication Science, Public Relations, Journalism, Video Technology/Digital Communication.
22. Provincial And Local Liaison (Administration):
    • Requirements: National Diploma (NQF 6) or three (3) years Degree (NQF 7) in Public Administration/Management.
23. Provincial And Local Liaison:
    • Requirements: National Diploma (NQF 6) or three (3) years Degree (NQF 7) in Public Administration/Management.
24. Provincial And Local Liaison (Communication):
    • Requirements: National Diploma (NQF 6) or three (3) years Degree (NQF 7) in Communication Science, Public Relations, Journalism, Media Studies.
25. Provincial And Local Liaison (Administration):
    • Requirements: National Diploma (NQF 6) or three (3) years Degree (NQF 7) in Public Administration/Management.
