Job Descriptions For IIE MSA and IIE Varsity

Varsity College operates under The Independent Institute of Education (IIE), a leading institution in private higher education in South Africa registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) and accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE).

The IIE Varsity College, Online Centre in Waterfall (Midrand), currently has a job opening for an Admissions Officer. The responsibilities of the role include:

Student Application & Admission Administration:

  • Collaborating with the campus Student Recruitment team for student admissions queries.
  • Ensuring completeness of student information with the Student Recruitment team.
  • Evaluating student admissions against set criteria and communicating outcomes.
  • Liaising with the Student Recruitment team during admission evaluation.
  • Escalating queries to the Senior Admission Officer or Admissions Manager.
  • Managing admission waitlists and declined admissions.
  • Documenting and issuing appropriate admission letters.
  • Tracking admissions through to registration.
  • Reporting on admission progress to the Senior Admission Officer.
  • Adhering to service level agreements for the admissions process.
  • Collaborating with the Finance department on finance-related admission issues.
  • Ensuring admission compliance for the campus.
  • Collaborating on national admission projects with the Admissions Manager.

Student Registration Administration:

  • Checking prerequisites for 1st to 2nd semester.
  • Verifying registrations against admission criteria.
  • Regularly checking accuracy of student registration information.
  • Managing de-registration and transfer processes.
  • Checking National Senior Certificate (NSC) exception reports.
  • Following up on outstanding documentation and uploads.
  • Determining eligibility, capturing academic credits, and managing student grouping.
  • Maintaining student files and ensuring compliance with data retention regulations.
  • Adhering to the International Student Policy/Procedure.
  • Re-auditing registration files in line with specified deadlines.
  • Drafting letters for current students, including Proof of Registration and Study Permit letters.

Reports & Other:

  • Maintaining communication with the Assistant Registrar on resolving Registrar-related queries.
  • Complying with The Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) legislation.
  • Performing ad hoc administrative and/or reporting duties as required.

Minimum Qualification Requirements forIIE MSA and IIE Varsity

  • Minimum of a National Diploma/Advanced Certificate (NQF Level 6). Advanced Diploma or Degree (NQF Level 7) advantageous.

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:
