“The Saldanha Bay Municipality is situated on the West Coast of South Africa. It, along with the Municipalities of Matzikama, Bergrivier, Swartland, and Cederberg, constitutes the complete West Coast District Municipality. The main office of Saldanha Bay is located in Vredenburg, with additional satellite offices in Langebaan, St Helena Bay, Paternoster, Saldanha, and Hopefield.”

REQUIREMENTS
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must have parents or guardians residing in the Saldanha Bay Municipal Area
- Must have successfully completed Matric
- Must commence their first year of study in 2023
- Must be enrolled or planning to enroll full-time in one of the specified fields of study
- Must have received provisional acceptance or acceptance to study at an accredited South African University or University of Technology
- Must have achieved a minimum of 40% in Mathematics or 50% in Mathematical Literacy in Matric
- Must have attained a minimum average of 60% in Matric or at least 50%, with a minimum average in Mathematics of 60%
- Must belong to a previously disadvantaged group or have a documented disability

HOW TO APPLY
To apply for the bursary, the applicant must download then accomplish the Application Form.

Required documents
- Certified copy of an ID document
- Certified copy of the final results in Grade 11
- Certified copy of the Matric results from September
- Certified copy of the final Matric results or the Matric certificate (if already completed)
- University provisional acceptance or acceptance letter on official letterhead
- Certified copies of the ID documents of the applicant’s parents or guardians
- Proof of income for the applicant’s parents or guardians, such as payslips (if employed) or bank statements (if unemployed)
- Proof of address for the applicant’s parents or guardians
- Certified copies of the ID documents for dependents relying on the family income
- Affidavit of guardianship if the applicant does not reside with their parents
- Motivational letter, limited to a maximum of 1000 words, stating either the applicant’s motivation for studying in their chosen field or why they believe they should be awarded the bursary.

NOTE: The submission of all of these documents is a requirement. Failure to submit all of these documents may lead to the application getting disregarded. Also, applications will get marked ‘Incomplete’ until letters of provisional acceptance to the university and final Matric results are officially received.
